Alex McCreight

Woodworks Manager

After running a custom furniture business in Dallas with his wife for seven years, life brought Alex and his family back home to Wichita. He met Nick through a mutual friend and was inspired by the entrepreneurial spirit of the Ten Works team. He soon joined the crew, leading the expansion of their woodshop. The now-manager of a small but mighty team, Alex brings a strong, calm energy to every challenge.

AKA > Dreamer, Estimator, Dad-joke guy

INSPIRED BY > My Dad, my wife + partner, Danish design, the satisfaction of making beautiful, functional things

TYPICAL DAY > I usually meet with the members of my team, talk about life and work, and deliverables for the week. Then I will jump into a project- sometimes it’s woodworking, emails, estimating or design. Usually I will do an assortment of all of these in a given day. It’s not atypical for me to participate in a meeting or go out to a job site as well.

THREE TRAITS > Attentive, thorough, not a morning person

HAPPY PLACE > Enjoying time with my family at home, being in nature/ on (an actual) vacation

DRINK ORDER > Beer, bourbon on the rocks

HIDDEN TALENTS > My wife and I bought her grandparents’ home and I spent about 9 months remodeling it for us to live in. I did most of the labor with a lot of help from my dad, my mom, and my wife. We documented the whole thing, and an episode of a tv show was made from it on Magnolia Network. (First Time Fixer, S4 Ep5 - if you’re curious!)
